Johnny English

Johnny English(2003) is not a Hollywood film,a Britain English film with my favourite T.V. show Mr.Bean's hero Rowan Atkinson as a hero.I've seen it this afternoon.
Plot:
The film opens with a bang.(You'll understand it later.)Johnny English(Rowan Atkinson) is a secret security agent working for the Britain. government.In an explosion,all the major agents die,barring English.So,the authorities were forced to appoint the incompetent Johnny English for looking after the securtiy arrangements for the 'Exhibition of Queen's jewels' in the Tower of London, which was sponsored by a Frenchman Pascal Sauvage.On the fateful day however,the robbers manage to take away the Queen's jewels from the Tower of London.Later,it turns out that it was Pascal Sauvage who arranged the robbery. Also, if the current family abdicates the throne,it's Sauvage who can become the next King of England.(These are not known to anyone.)Later,Johnny and one guy are made incharge of the investigation regarding the jewel robbery. Now,the 2 come to know of Pascal's intentions.They try to inform this,but the higher authorities do not understand his motives and asks him to stay away from the investigations for 3 months.Now,the queen is threatened by Sauvage's men to abdicate the throne,which she agrees to.Now,the dream of Pascal to becomes almost fulfilled,with the coronation event also being fixed.But,Johnny,
his assistant avert it and thus try to expose his misdeeds with the help of Johnny's girlfriend,who fell in love for the 'sincerity' and the 'detrmination' shown by Johnny.How it's done is the rest of the story.
Views:
The plot may seem like it's some James Bond or Mission Impossible kind of movie,but it's a comedy.A first class comedy,where Johnny does everything in a wrong and foolish manner,but nevertheless succeeds towards the end.
Positives:
1.Rowan Atkinson:The role is just an extension of his popular Mr.Bean.But he's great.Difference is he does not talk too much in Bean,but does a lot here and very often some 'pseudo-intelligent' dialogues during investigations just to cover his incompetence!
2.Jokes:Best ones being the climax(The way Johnny overpowers Sauvage.),the one where Johnny says "You're on the most secure place in Britain"(Next moment an explosion is heard!Very safe!),the 'stunning introduction scene' for our hero and when Johnny tries to fire his gun,but could never do it for some reason or other.(Well,there are many,but these ar the best.)
3.Heroine and Johnny's assistant too act well.Heroine does nice stunts too.(Thank God,someone does it,as Hero does '0' stunts.)
4.Background music:Gives the feel of a great action thriller and thus make us laugh more.
Negatives:
1.Small film!Just 89 minutes or so.
Rating:9 out of 10 for its non-stop clean comedy.(Highly recommended and a masterpiece.One of my all-time favourite movies.)
