Finally India won the test series in England 1-0.But,it would have been even more memorable if it was 2-0.Yet,it was a good series and the best thing is that almost each and every player contributed when the team needed the most during the 2nd and 3rd tests. The series win was memorable for one more reason-Our Indian cricket team has proved that there is more to aggressive playing than merely throwing jellybeans!
Kumble rewarded:
Kimble is one of our best bowlers and he for the first time has scored a century in a Test match. And he was rightly rewarded with the Man of the Match.Unfortunately,it's Rahul Dravid who did not reward Kumble properly.Because,if Dravid had enforced the follow-on on England or atleast took less number of deliveries to score a mere 12 runs,India would have won the test match and it would make people feel that Kumble scored it for a winning cause.
Atlast rain helps India too:
Generally, when India plays a match, very often rain/badlight prevents India from certain victory.Or,rains come too late after India loses the match.(India would have drawn those tests if
rains arrived even 10 min. earlier during those mathces.)But this time rains have helped India from suffering a certain defeat in the first Test match. So,India was destined to teach the methods of winning to the England Cricket Team, who off late knows to throw jellybeans better than scoring runs/bowling well.It was good that India after that never seemed to give England a chance to win the 2nd Test or 3rd Test.
